Log Home Tour Series: Birdie Farm

It's Day 5 of the Log Home Tour Series! This coming Sunday is National Log Cabin Day and what better way to recognize it than touring a group of log cabins and homes ranging from small working cabins to fantastic new builds.
Today we are travelling to Colorado to the amazing home of Lucy Rose, Birdie Farm.

Lucy says, "In 2013 we first laid on the most beautiful property we had ever seen, fell madly in love, and began the journey of building a home. We knew immediately that we wanted to build our forever home in a way that honored the property, and felt organic, so modeling after a homestead quickly became our inspiration. Square log siding was a dream of ours, and for it to look reclaimed was our hope. We chose to have horizontal log siding on the first floor, and vertical board and batten for the second, almost as if we had found a homestead and added on."

"We have a lot of different wood elements in the interior of our home. The natural beauty of logs and wood are inspiring to me, and I've got to think if they work so well together in nature, why not in a home?

The wood elements include exposed log beams, open wood shelving, reclaimed wood floors, and reclaimed Wyoming fence. We put our heart and soul into our home, and feel like we are living in a dream, and could not be more thankful and grateful that we had the opportunity to do so. I hope you enjoy the tour of our forever home!"

Lucy has filled her beautiful home with antique pieces.

The kitchen feels collected over many years because of pieces made of various reclaimed woods, such as the kitchen island overhanging cabinet made from reclaimed Wyoming fence.

I love the attention to detail in every room. Rustic and industrial elements are perfectly mixed with beautiful fabrics.

The home has stunning mountain views.

I want to thank Lucy Rose for allowing us to walk through her home today. Even after all of these amazing photos there are many beautiful spaces we didn't see so make sure you head over to Lucy's blog Birdie Farm and her Instagram to see more.

Thank you to all of you who joined us on this week's tours. Click on the Log Home Tour Series tab at the top of the page to see all of the tours so far.
