An Elegant Rustic Winter Wedding at the Cabin

We were thrilled to host our very first wedding here at the cabin this Winter! Becoming a small wedding venue has been something I've thought about since I first saw our house and its potential.  I was thrilled when the bride, Erika, said she wanted to have her reception here with us.  Erika said she wanted it to be natural and woodsy, but with some touches of glam. So welcome to Miles and Erika's elegant rustic Winter wedding reception at Hood Creek Log Cabin!

All of these gorgeous photos are courtesy of the talented Maria of ShadowRaven Photography from Leland, NC.

How cute it that chalk board to welcome reception guests? It was just one of the awesome pieces we used from the Wilmington, NC based boutique rental company Martha My Dear Rentals. If you are in Southeastern North Carolina and want unique pieces for your event, they are the folks you need.

I've included a full source list at the end for readers who may want to recreate these looks.

Guests entered through the front porch, greeted by white lace curtains hung from our rustic beams.

The bride requested the head table be the 15' long farmhouse table on the front porch.  It fit the entire wedding party plus more relatives and friends.

We used magnolia and eucalyptus to create a garland runner down the table and draping over the ends. An eclectic mixture of candle holders gave the table a warm glow.

White tulle and white string lights hanging from willow branches made a dreamy backdrop behind the bride and groom.

Simple eucalyptus and a strand of crystals decorated the chandelier over the table.

Glass candle holders on hanging branches helped light up the evening both outside and inside.

The rest of the seventy guests sat inside, but with the weather so nice, the doors were open to all of the porches and everyone was able to mingle freely.

This gorgeous cake table was also provided by Martha My Dear Rentals...

as was this enchanting antique settee and lanterns throughout that provided the perfect spot for photos.

We are so grateful to have been part of Mile's and Erika's wedding day.  They are an awesome couple and we wish them all the best life can bring them!
