Outdoor 50th Anniversary Party at the Cabin

This past Sunday we were privileged to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary here at the cabin with a Spring garden party.

With help from lots of family and friends, we had an elegant back yard anniversary party full of blush and dark pink azaleas and blue and white dishes.

My Mom loves pink flowers, so pink definitely had to be our main color. I am so thankful for the friends who graciously allowed me to raid their azalea bushes and wild ferns to have enough flowers to do these arrangements.  Mom also loves blue and white together and has a huge collection of Blue Willow dishes so I wanted to incorporate blue and white too.

These wine glasses have been by far one of the best investments I've made for entertaining, at less than $10 for a dozen.  The tablecloths have been worth buying too.  I found I could buy them for the same price as renting them.  Since this is their third time being used, I'm so happy I bought them.

I used these rose gold and cobalt blue disposable plates that were just perfect.  They are the same weight as other higher end plastic disposable plates that you might find.  We also used plastic rose gold flatware.  Even though they are disposable and were very economical, I couldn't bear to throw them away. So they are ready for another party!

Oh, and we put some yummy food on those pretty plates!  Our menu consisted of grilled london broil and chicken breast, mashed potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, steamed broccoli, and spinach pear salad.

The beverage station was decked out in a vintage embroidered tablecloth and some great new Better Homes and Gardens glass beverage dispensers with rope details I found recently.

The wine was chilled in a big bowl full of flower ice cubes to add to add some more pretty.  We made those easily by putting small flowers in ice cube trays, filling them with water and freezing them.

The cake was blush pink with a topper of pink azaleas in a blue and white dish.  Azaleas aren't safe to put directly on cakes, so this was a safe way to use them.

The flavors of cake were lemon with lemon curd filling, vanilla with raspberry filling, and vanilla with chocolate blackberry filling.

Here are more photos from our fun night.

Thanks so much for stopping by to see the anniversary party!  I appreciate each one of you who visits the blog!
